MOBILE VISION

Unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Symbioz concept presented Renault’s vision of future cars. This concept is threefold: car, demonstrator and living space (we did say living space!). Electric, autonomous and connected, Renault Symbioz was designed as an extended living space, and makes the concept of a mobile home a reality, for a brand new driving experience.

LOOKING TO 2030

With the Symbioz concept, Renault travelled into the future of cars and its future position in society in 2030, encompassing aspects of mobility, design and living space. Renault Symbioz is not only electric - with two 500-kW electric engines each, for a driving range of 500 km and going from 0 to 100 kph in less than 6 seconds - but also offers level 4 driverless driving system, known as “Mind off”, to free drivers (if we can still call them that) from all their driving tasks.

FEEL LIKE HOME

The interior design was optimised for the passengers’ well-being and to make the most of time saved when driving tasks are delegated to the car. Renault Symbioz come with an outstanding number of features: HD screen, retractable steering wheel, pedals and instrument panel when switching to autonomous mode, and seats that can be turned into proper 180° swivel armchairs. Renault Symbioz lets you live while on the road, with an access to a digital environment, just like at home or at the office.

style

FRENCH TOUCH

Design is at the heart of this vehicle, to be experienced both as a concept and as an extension of your home. The upper part of Symbioz optimises the light inside the passenger compartment (crystal treatment of glazed surfaces, specific roof shape, etc.), whereas the lower part enhances the Renault French Design style. Its sublime suicide doors for the lower part and throttle doors for the glazed upper part are perfect examples. Moreover, materials used were selected taking inspiration from home (felt, wood, porcelain, etc.) with a little hi-TECH touch. Renault Symbioz also stands out with its graphite bodywork and its copper dual texture.
